An executive functioning coach is a professional who helps individuals develop cognitive skills like planning, organization, time management, and focus, by creating personalized strategies to improve daily functioning and achieve personal goals, often targeting areas like self-regulation, prioritization, and motivation, particularly beneficial for people with challenges in these areas like ADHD.
Is EF Coaching the same as therapy? No!
This can be confusing because EF coaches often support clients with managing anxiety and emotion dysregulation. EF coaching is focused on building cognitive skills and neuroplasticity (or flexible thinking). Our team of clinician coaches have professional academic experience in addition to post graduate training hours in working with executive functioning, neuroplasticity, ADHD, and ADD.
What is the time commitment?
Great question! It varies based on your need. When you call for a consultation your coach will provide you with an assessment and estimate of the time commitment.
We all use our executive functioning as a key part of our wellbeing.
Often students and professionals seek out EF coaching when facing challenges with organization, engaging in tasks, and workload management. But people seeking out EF coaching for non-academic reasons as well when life tasks are challenging. Families, students, and adults often report challenges with diagnosed and undiagnosed ADHD symptoms, learning disabilities, and people with executive function challenges due to brain injury.

Short term and may last only a month- this type of coaching takes fewer sessions but leave you to do the implementation on your own.
Often coaching includes both skill acquisition, practice, and practical reinforcement. This type of coaching takes more time but you can expect more support and long term success while developing new skills.
We teach practical tools and techniques to help you manage your daily life more effectively, including routines, organizational systems, and self-monitoring methods.
"Body doubling" is a productivity technique where you perform a task while in the presence of another person, either physically or virtually, to help you stay focused and motivated to complete the task. Let our body double support you through telehealth 1-2 hour task support.
We all need a tune up. After your initial coaching experience it is often helpful to schedule less frequent sessions to check-in or access body doubling.
Focus on cognitive skills
You will work on improving core executive functions like planning, prioritizing, time management, task initiation, and working memory. Often this is focused on the situations and challenges happening for you right now. Problem solving and working through and creating solutions in real time.
